(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Spartans will take to the field on home turf this Saturday July 28th against the Ottawa Sooners looking for their first home play-off victory in decades.  With the regular season completed, the Spartans romped over the young and inexperienced Bulldogs in North Bay over the weekend with a 73-7 victory.  The Spartans now set their attention on preparation for this weekend’s quarter final contest.

This week’s Spartan Home game is sponsored by the extended family of sports teams associated with SW Sports & Entertainment, The Sudbury Five Basketball Team and the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club, both will be on hand with fan giveaways throughout the game.  In addition, the Sudbury Five Dance Squad is also expected to make an appearance as they get ready for the inaugural basketball season for the Five in the National Basketball League of Canada

Prior to the game and throughout the game, the SW Food & Beverage team will be on hand with the Dellelce Family Hospitality tent serving Molson-Coors products.  Featured this Saturday will be Dan MacDonald, local music, who will be performing live.

The Spartans finished the season with 4 wins and 4 losses recording a 2nd place finish in the NFC’s Eastern Conference.  They will be tested as the post season unfolds beginning with the Sooners from Ottawa who finished 5-3.  It won’t take long for this contest to heat up so come down and enjoy the action this weekend. Game time is 7:30pm.
