For the first time in recent history, the Sudbury Spartans earned a 25-8 victory over the  Tri City Outlaws.

A long time rival of the Spartans since the 2011 return of the team. ‘This is the first time that we have won in the Outlaws backyard,’ said Coach Labrosse, referring to last nights victory in Cambridge. ‘We have always fought the Outlaws tooth and nail and they have always come out on top, but not tonight. Tonight we needed a win, and we made it happen.

All aspects of the team came together in the victory. Offence is jelling, and Defense is solid. Outstanding performances by Ben DeBenedet, Jared Loyer, Matt Glass and Justin Poirier. But the High Light of the night has to be a 9 tackle night by Hall of Fame Member Kevin White.

Tonight’s win came on the heels of a victory against the Steelers at home and building toward a playoff run that would see us host a possible quarter final match up at home for the first time since 2015. This will only be possible when the team finalizes a victory against the Bulldogs of North Bay. This victory would guarantee a home first round playoff game for the Quarter final game on July 28th at James Jerome field.
